PROBLEM: GPS BLUETOOTH PAIRING POCKET PC WINDOWS MOBILE
I've recently bought a GPS Bluetooth for my pocket pc with Windows Mobile. The problem: I can pair both devices, but I can’t create an Outgoing port in COM6 or COM7 (there’s no more ports). My error message: “the COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again”.
So, I started searching in Google using:
- “The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again”
- GPS Bluetooth pair
But I didn’t find the solution. Who to solve it?
Solution:
- Remove the paired Bluetooth device.
- Download some kind of remote registry software to access the pocket pc registry. I used: TTXN Remote Registry v1.2.
- Go to this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Serial\Ports
- Delete all sub keys (sub keys must be something similar to 0000 001b c102 ff12 but with different numbers).
- Soft-Reset.
- Try again. Now it must work. (At least in my case).
Yeah!
